As a co-founder of Hendyamps Studios, Walter stands as one of the most ambitious and deeply personal projects I have ever been a part of. This album is the result of years of collaboration, storytelling, experimentation, and emotional investment. I served as a co-writer on the music and narrative, recording and mixing engineer, and creative director for the visual identity of the record. Every layer of this project, from the first melodic idea to the final visual presentation, was shaped with intention.
Walter is a film score without a film. The music was written hand-in-hand with a fully developed narrative, each composition evolving alongside the story it represents. At the center is Walter, a soldier cursed with immortality after being mortally wounded on a battlefield in the First Century BC. Unable to die, he is forced to walk through centuries of war, love, loss, and moral conflict as empires rise and fall around him. The album follows his realization of immortality, the choices that shape who he becomes, his encounters with love and innocence, and his relentless search for meaning across thousands of years of existence.
From a production standpoint, this project pushed every boundary of what we do at Hendyamps Studios. Sonically, the score blends organic instrumentation, modern sound design, and cinematic orchestration to create an emotional language that carries as much weight as the story itself. My role in engineering and mixing the record was to ensure that every moment felt immersive, dynamic, and emotionally exact, allowing the listener to feel the scale and intimacy of Walter’s journey at the same time.
Visually, I designed the identity of the project to mirror its tone: minimal, textured, and timeless. The stark contrast of grey and white against black, the distressed typography, and the restrained visual pacing all reflect the emotional gravity of the story and the loneliness of a man who never ages and never truly finds rest.
More than an album, Walter is a world that we built from the ground up. It represents everything I love about creating. Story, sound, and visual art woven together into a single cinematic experience. This project sits at the heart of my work as a composer, engineer, and visual creative, and it continues to shape the direction of everything I do going forward.
